Singing to the Father
“Sing to God, sing in praise of his name,
extol him who rides on the clouds;
rejoice before him—his name is the Lord. A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows,
is God in his holy dwelling.
God sets the lonely in families,
he leads out the prisoners with singing;
but the rebellious live in a sun-scorched land.”
Psalms 68:4-6 NIV
Today, I sing to the Father
Thanking Him for the good gifts of my father, and my sons’ father
Today, I pray to the Father
Asking Him to keep His word
By defending the widows and single mamas
By placing the lonely in families and committed friendships
By letting justice roll down on sick systems that profit from prisons and the imprisoned
By scorching the unrighteous with conviction and leading them toward the healing waters of repentance and repair
May He who rides on the clouds
Crack open the sky
And pull heaven’s will to earth
Through the Spirit
Through us
